| Innovation | As defined by DH: ‘an idea, service or product, new to the NHS or applied in a way that is new to the NHS, which significantly improves the quality of health and care wherever it is applied.’2 |
| Technology | Drugs, devices and diagnostic tools; NICE considers these ‘technologies’ in its technology appraisal process.3 |
| Peer | A fellow clinician. This definition was deliberately broad to enable participants to interpret the term and respond based on their personal experiences and perceptions of their own peers. |
